Description:

  • Cape Cod history is richly intertwined with the sea and full of tales of shipwrecks, fishing, whaling, sailing adventures, pirates, captains and treasures gained and lost. This rich history is explored and celebrated during the Cape Cod Maritime Days, which are organized by the Cape Cod Commission. Activities range from academic symposiums on maritime history to open houses at Cape lighthouses, parades, reenactments and historic cruises. This is a free Cape-wide event with nearly every community on the Cape planning events and activities for this mid-May, week-long celebration.
