Description:
This place is compact, stylish, and modern, and ideally situated in the heart of historic De Waterkant. The in-house Soho restaurant is well regarded, but you are also a short stroll from the area's world-class restaurants and shops and some of the city's best nightlife. Room nos. 5 and 6, each with a small terrace overlooking the city, are the most spacious (though by no means large), but if you're watching your budget, opt for one of the smaller rooms, which are equally tasteful (all grays and whites, with satin-ribboned pillows adding a splash of color). Taking their cue from De Waterkant Village, The Village Lodge also offers a few self-catering cottages and a five-bedroom villa; all guests have access to the rooftop pool -- the small rooftop terrace is a great place to relax, with a fabulous mountain and city backdrop. If you're spending only a few nights in the city and want to be in the heart of the action, there is no better option, but it doesn't have the tranquility of, say, Alta or Cadogan.
