Seapoint/Greenpoint
Hip, liberal, urban. Seapoint/Greenpoint is known for its oceanfront promenade, the recently revitalised De Waterkant area, trendy restaurants and clubs, and local young urbanites. It's also the gay capital of Cape Town, and has numerous gay clubs and bars. Convenient and classy, this is urban Cape Town with a twist.
Situated on the peninsula that creates the western border of Table Bay, the Seapoint/Greenpoint area offers views of Robben Island, sunsets over the Atlantic, and proximity to the City Bowl and the V & A Waterfront. Just to the west of the City Bowl, De Waterkant offers bars, restaurants, galleries, and revitalized neighborhoods and shopping areas. Seapoint, Mouille Point, and Greenpoint are linked along the ocean by a promenade and park that has provided recreational space to generations of residents. Feel free to join the locals running, swimming, or enjoying a Cape Town picnic. Just between the promenade and Greenpoint lies Cape Town Stadium, Cape Town's World Cup soccer venue.
