V & A Waterfront: Cape Town

The V & A Waterfront provides the tourist with a multitude of resources. It is the gateway to Robben Island, has views of the City Bowl and Table Mountain, provides quick curio shopping, dining, and a range of retail shops in a fully operational harbour.  It's practical, cultural, and efficient.

Located just between the City Bowl and Greenpoint, the V & A Waterfront is easily accessible by foot, taxi, and even water taxi from the Cape Town International Convention Centre.  While it is not actually a neighborhood, the Waterfront offers all the amenities to meet your needs.  Whether its kitting up for a hike, stocking up on groceries, purchasing a new bathing suit for a trip to the Atlantic Seaboard, changing currency, or looking for South African reading materials, the Waterfront is a sure bet. 

For a break from the shopping, the Waterfront has plenty of restaurants with outdoor seating from which to enjoy views, outdoor performance spaces, the Robben Island Museum, and the Two Oceans Aquarium.
