Cape Town was established in 1652 as a supply outpost for the
Dutch East India Company. Since this time, the city has had an
extended history of imperial occupation culminating the apartheid
state that lasted from 1910 to 1994. Although one of the safest
destinations in South Africa, visitors are advised to exercise
