The possibilities of things to do in Cape Town are endless. With outdoor activities, historical sights, natural beauty, wildlife, and cultural experiences, you will find that there just isn't enough time to fit it all in. A hike up Table Mountain is a must. Standing guard over Cape Town, Table Mountain defines the city. For the original inhabitants of the area, the Mountain was the source of myth and intrigue. For modern day Capetonians, Table Mountain is the heart of daily life. At 1086 meters and home to 1400 species of flora, Table Mountain is a spectacular nature reserve surrounded by a world-class city. With hundreds of routes to ascend, the Mountain can keep an avid hiker and climber busy for years. Of course there are also a number of ways down -- hiking, the cable car, or an abseil off the mountain.
Another place you must visit is Camps Bay Beach, a broad stretch of palm tree-lined white sand bordering the bracing waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Set at the foot of a spectacular series of mountain peaks, the Twelve Apostles, yet only 10 minutes from the city center by car, it is one of Cape Town's most popular beaches. The beachside road has a festive atmosphere with a good variety of cafes and restaurants offering great sea views.
For more of a cultural experience, don't miss the Cultural Cape Town - Langa and Khayelitsha Tour. This tour showcases some of the oldest monuments and historical sights in Cape Town. Pay a visit to Langa, the oldest formal township. Or visit the largest informal settlement, Khayelitsha, before popping in to a shebeen where you will interact with the local community. There are so many things to do in Cape Town, the city might just overwhelm you.
