    • About Cape Point Photo by: Greg Wright Cape Point is situated within the southern section of Table Mountain National Park, accessible from the Cape of Good Hope entrance. The promontory (or peninsula) is part of the richest Floral Kingdom in the world, a largely undeveloped and unspoilt slice of wilderness only a few kilometres from the bustling port city of Cape Town. This section of the park is also a haven for seabirds, and is home to several species of antelope, the largest of which is the eland. There are two lighthouses on Cape Point, the higher of which can be accessed via a funicular (affectionately known as the Flying Dutchman) that can transport up to 600 people an hour.
