South African Police Services Museum

South African Police Services Museum - Cape Town

  • Description:

    • The region's first police post is found in this False Bay museum, whose other highlight is a display of the Battle of Muizenberg, fought on 7 August 1795. You'll also discover, police equipment through the ages, the old Magistrate's Court and Carnegie Library, as well as many other interesting memorabilia. The museum is opposite the historic Muizenberg Railway Station, built in 1912 of redbrick with sand rustication – a fine example of Edwardian-era architecture. There is ample parking just off the road, and the museum has no entry fee.
