Oh Yes!
Paul Leger lists over 250 self-catering places from R15 to R100 pp in his "Guide to Budget Getaways" paperback.
There are so many places which offer really good camping.
I could even take you and 5 friends for a camping safari to places like Cederberg, West Coast, Garden Route, Overberg, Baviaanskloof, Die Hel and many more.
I have a 4x4 VW van which can go many places ordinary tourists will never know of, nor see.

There are many camping sites in and around the Cape Town area, many are situated 5 min walk from beaches or rivers, there are also camping sites on dams and on certain mountain ranges, Prices can vary from camp site to camp site, all depends on what kind of fun you are looking for and activities to do in the area.
