R4000 = few sushi meals, decent thai food and some good home-made courses for the month.

Food prices are very affordable and the quality is generally good. My Norwegian visitors that recently left after seven weeks were very enthusiastic about the prices and the quality.

All depends on whether its a fully self-catering vacation or not.
At a local steakhouse you could pay about $8 for a buger and fries and $12 for a steak.
There are also numerous buffet options that range around R13 for a eat at much as you can sushi (Sushi Nori) Blouberg as an example.
Self catering, the much cheaper option - a pack of chicken (3 breasts) $3, Steak $12 per KG etc

there are so many resteraunts to choose from, to suit your mood and pocket, why not try panama jacks on pier no.8. its on the working part of the harbour, but they serve the best seafood, at local pocket prices.
