Description:

  • Designed by the architects Eustace L. Conder, Roger Conder Francis Farmer and Sydney Follet, the station is a clear example of art nouveau aesthetics. The four English architects started the project in 1914, and it became to be known as one of the largest train stations in the world, symbol of the power the country imagined in that era. The building has two distinct sections: the main room that faces the street and that gives passengers access to the main hall, ticket booths and waiting rooms. The other section is for trains and platforms. In this section, you can see the two marvelous metallic sections. In front of the station you will Find the Plaza Fuerza Aérea Argentina (Argentine Air Force Plaza) and Torre Monumental with it's huge clock, a gift from the British government to the Argentine people.
