Description:
The Auberge de la Baie is your basic year-round motel that has dressed itself up with a modern lobby and dining room. The rooms are cheerless but adequate (some have cinder-block walls, some have bay views). Particularly inviting is the broad lawn that descends from the property toward the water; stake your claim to a lawn chair and dive into a book. There's a small beach for swimming as well. The oaky and spare restaurant is open daily for all three meals, specializing in seafood dinners. Look for such items as salmon, fish and chips, and the ever-present fried clams with tartar sauce.
