- Signposted from the A465 into Tredegar, north of Newport, this park offers over 600 acres of woodland and lakes with some spectacular views over the Welsh valleys. There are regular special events, including a kite festival and the 36-acre lake may be used for fishing, water-skiing, wind-surfing and hang-gliding (this has to be arranged in advance, so telephone for details). A visitor centre houses a restaurant, shop, exhibition area and self-catering accommodation for 18. There's also a caravan site and children's adventure playground. A full programme of events is available on request.
