• To tour the ornate halls of this finely-restored museum on the Plaza de Bolivar is to wander back through a legacy flowing with the blood and misery of infidels put to the sword by the Spanish Inquisition. While there may be a slight revisionist take on the degree of cruelty dealt out by the Church, there is no mistaking the effective and unforgiving nature of the instruments of torture that remain on display here. If the violence of this history is not to your liking, a simple visit to enjoy the architecture of this building that employs colonial and baroque amongst its styles is worth the effort.
