Description:
- Comprised of freshwater wetlands, ponds, streams, fields and upland woods, the Caleb Smith State Park Preserve is nestled in the middle of a suburb. The preserve is a refuge for wildlife and man alike. The park is open year-round from 8:00 a.m. to dusk. It is closed Monday from April to September and closed Mondays and Tuesdays from October to March. In addition, the 32-mile Long Island Greenbelt Trail passes through the park.
Caleb Smith State Park Preserve provides hiking, cross-country skiing, nature trails and fishing.
Located on Long Island, Caleb Smith Preserve may be found southeast of Smithtown along Jericho Turnpike / SR 25.
