Changchun World Sculpture Park (Changchun Shijie Diaosu Gongyuan)

Description:

• Over 390 sculptures by artists from 172 countries such as China, Russia, Africa, and Korea are exhibited inside this park, which is located in the south of the city. The 92-hectare (227 acre) park, opened in 2003, is vast; artworks are placed along the two long main roads as well as surrounding the lake in the center of the park. The art gallery at the right side of the entrance features different exhibitions from time to time. Though not every piece of the artwork is exceptional, some of them are pretty impressive. Outstanding pieces include Russian artist Pavel Shaposhnik's Golden Dream, a cast bronze sculpture featuring a man falling asleep on a bench, placed near the exit of the art gallery; and mainland artist Chen Tao's Dressing Girl, outside the art gallery.
