The cuisine of celebrity chef Bob Waggoner draws rave reviews from as far away as Paris. The marble-floored, mahogany-sheathed dining room is one of the city's most luxurious and the one that's the most at ease with haute European sophistication. Menu items change with the seasons, and you will be pleasantly surprised by how well Low Country and French cuisine meld.
Check out a romantic hidden gem, the Fulton Five. You will find Fulton Five covered in vines and tucked in a small alley off of King Street. The atmosphere is very romantic -- think Lady and the Tramp. Pale green walls and candlelight reflecting off of brass accents only add to the charm. The food is mostly Italian, and the menu varies according to season. Dishes like mushroom and goat cheese crostini, pan-seared red snapper, and filet mignon are all impeccably prepared.
The Library Restaurant at Vendue Inn is located near The Battery, Charleston's historic waterfront park. The view from the rooftop dining area is simply spectacular. Or try one of the two other dining rooms, each decorated to provide an intimate and romantic atmosphere.
