Description:

  • Built in 1763 by John Rutledge, a signer of the U.S. Constitution, this is one of the only fifteen homes belonging to those signers to survive, and the only one to now accommodate overnight guests. Beautifully restored, the John Rutledge House Inn re-creates the experience of Colonial Charleston each afternoon as tea is served in the ballroom where the presidents and patriots have met. Rates include breakfast served in the guest room or in our courtyard and evening turndown service with Godiva chocolates. Guests may choose from rooms and suites in the main house or in one of the Inn's two carriage houses. AAA Four-Diamond rating. Charter member of Historic Hotels of America.
