North Charleston: Charleston (SC)

Head down I-26 a few miles and you'll come to the next most populated area of the city, North Charleston. Although it's away from the beach, North Charleston provides the same great low-country experience and feel that you get from being in downtown. On a rainy day, Charleston's largest mall, the Northwoods Mall, is ideal for an afternoon of shopping with over 100 department stores and small shops.
