Head down I-26 a few miles and you'll come to the next most populated area of Charleston, North Charleston. Although it's away from the beach, North Charleston provides the same great low country experience and feel that you get from being in downtown. On a rainy day, Charleston's largest mall, the Northwoods Mall, is ideal for an afternoon of shopping with over 100 department stores and small shops.
