- California Dreaming is situated at the mouth of the Ashley River, and therefore patrons can enjoy a dazzling view of the water as they dine on thick slabs of prime rib or the catch of the day. The building itself is designed to resemble a fort from the Civil War era, made out of brick with ceiling-high, arched windows. The fact that every single table has an excellent view of the Charleston Harbor keeps people coming back, as well as the delicious food. The expertly prepared prime rib, broiled steaks, seafood, salads, baby back ribs, sandwiches and burgers are enough to make your mouth water.
