Addlestone Library

Description:

• The Addlestone Library, or the Marlene and Nathan Addlestone Library, is the main library of the College of Charleston. It is home to special collections, the center for student learning, the main campus computer lab, the media collection, and the Java City Cafe. The library can hold one million volumes of books and can seat 1400, all on hickory leather chairs. It also supports researchers with 460 computers. The library offers various services including a special collection evaluation and acquisitions department, which organizes, preserves, and makes available printed and archival materials including the College archives, rare books and pamphlets. They also publish all material related to the history of South Carolina and keep rare manuscript collections.
