  • Opened in 1948, The Johnson Hagood Stadium is a 18,000 seater football stadium named after Brigadier General Johnson Hagood. Home to the Citadel Bulldogs football team, the venue has hosted the NCAA Division I National Championship game in 1983 and '84. The stadium was purchased by The Citadel from the city of Charleston in 1963. The stadium has undergone a 40 million dollar makeover and the finished facility includes grandstands with premier seating sections, a pressbox, club level seating and a club lounge.
