Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon - Charleston (SC)

  • Description:

    • This is a stop that many visitors overlook, but it's one of the three most important colonial buildings in the United States because of its role as a prison during the American Revolution. In 1873, the building became City Hall. You'll find a large collection of antique chairs, supplied by the local Daughters of the American Revolution, each of whom brought a chair here from home in 1921.
