• Inaugurated in the 1970s, this shopping arcade lends color and character to the East Charlotte neighborhood. Catering to mostly middle-class folk, the shopping venue is affordable and a good enough spot to meet up with friends. Not many big store names are to be found here; those that take up space seem to satisfy the locals. A big plus is the ample space—1.1 million square feet (102,200 square meters) of it! Though it faces stiff competition from newer, swankier contenders, the mall still manages to keep afloat with the occasional touch-up.
