Description:
This fine, half-timbered, five-story building in the heart of Chester is considered one of the most luxurious hotels in northern England. Owned and named after the family of the dukes of Westminster, its origin can be traced from the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. It has hosted its share of royalty, including Prince Albert, Princess Diana, and Prince Rainier. The high-ceilinged, marble-floored foyer of the hotel, with its 200-year-old chandelier and carved wooden staircase, sets the tone. Each large, well-furnished bedroom is individually styled, with silks from France and handmade furnishings from Italy. Each comes with a heated towel rack, Floris toiletries, and bathrobes.
