- If you are heading out on the town with friends and plan to make it to a decent club for some late night dancing, Spicy is probably best avoided. However, if you are a little worse for wear and looking to dance the night away with a largely bargirl crowd, Spicy is an option. Spicy is one of the few places still open in the area after 1am (rumor has it a former senior police officer owns it). The unsuspecting might walk into Spicy and believe it to be a normal Chiang Mai disco. It is more like a pick-up joint and nothing like a typical Thai disco. The music is average, the scene messy, it smells like vomit and it is often a little bit dangerous, so keep your wits about you. If you don't mind a slightly shady venue, this is a scene that should be experienced at least once and probably best at least slightly inebriated.
