Description:

  • About half way between the southeast corner of the Old City and the Night Bazaar, City Shark Fin has found its niche as the place to get Chinese specialty dishes that aren't commonly found on menus. While most of the customers are Chinese and Japanese expats or travelers, the restaurant's owner, a Bangkok native who used to live in Texas, welcomes Westerners to come try something new and exotic. The menu includes over 100 dishes ranging from fairly common chicken, pork, and beef dishes to the less usual such as ostrich meat, goose feet, duck tongues, sea cucumber, and sea balloon - all very popular items. Shark fin soup is the specialty, and surprisingly runs at a reasonable price. -Scott Johnson
