- Amazing Sandwich is amazingly popular with western tourists and expats for good reason. It has arguably one of the best western breakfast selections in Chiang Mai. A small and unassuming looking cafe, Amazing Sandwich is located directly across the road from the cavernous, Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Centre (known locally as Central Plaza Shopping Centre). The original Amazing Sandwich opened near the Thai Airways office in Chiang Mai's Old City in 1998, moving to its current location on Huay Kaew Road in 2004. While the all day breakfasts are the star here, the cafe is also aptly named and features a great selection of choose-your-own-adventure sandwich options. Sandwiches are created using a special order form, where customers choose their bread of choice and select from five different groups of fillings. Fillings from each group are included in the price – between 80 and 120 baht. Other meals include burgers, home-made cottage pie, Cornish pasties, meat pies as well as quiches and sweets. Located on the road to Doi Suthep, this is a a good option for a pre-packed lunch before heading up the mountain. Amazing Sandwich also has a home delivery service.
