- The American University Alumni (AUA) Language Center is one of Thailand's more popular short term language schools. Classes are each 6 weeks long and include 4 levels of spoken Thai and 2 levels of written Thai. Each class is only two hours per day, so students still have most of the day to explore Chiang Mai and practice their newly acquired conversational skills. AUA also has a foreign language library. With a ฿400 annual membership, even non-students can check out books and use the library's internet. The school is very centrally located just a short walk from Tha Phae Gate. - Scott Johnson
