Description:

Bhubing Palace is the winter residence of the Royal Family in Chiang Mai. Typically, they would stay during seasonal visits to the people in northern part of the country. The Palace is used as a headquarters for overseeing development projects in hill tribe villages. The Palace itself may only be viewed from the grounds, which feature a lovely rose garden and reservoir. If you are interested in gardens, you can continue a few kilometres down the road to the Hmong Hilltribe Village, which also features a wonderful garden best viewed in the afternoon. The gardens of the Palace are open daily from 8:30am – 11:30am and 1pm – 4:30pm. If you are a foreigner the price is fixed at 100 Baht entry. If you can show a Thai driving license or you are Thai the admission fee drops to 20 baht. The Palace is closed during the Royal visit, which is typically between January and March.
