Buak Hat Park

• Buak Hard Park is a choice place to take it easy, whether you go for a morning jog or to relax after a busy week of seeing the sites of Chiang Mai. Buak Hard has a circular footpath around a network of ponds. There is plenty of grass for an afternoon picnic and a variety of street food and drink stalls just outside the entrance gate most afternoons. A children's playground is located in one corner. In February, Buak Hard is the center of the Chiang Mai Flower Festival (thetakaan mai dawk mai pradap) which features flower-covered floats, the "Queen of the Flowers" beauty contest, and live music and performances. This is a lunar festival so its exact dates will change from year to year. -Scott Johnson
