• If you were hoping for something a little out of the ordinary to do during your time in Chiang Mai, staying a couple of nights on a houseboat on a beautiful man made lake, might be just the ticket. Eakachai House Boats are located on the Mae Ngat Reservoir in the Sri Lanna National Park - a place where you can relax, swim, canoe, fish and enjoy the impressive scenery and local flora and fauna. The lodgings are on moored houseboats and are pretty basic but have electricity and there is a restaurant boat with Thai and western food and a fully stocked bar. For budding fisherman, the man-made lake has Giant Catfish, Jungle Fish and Indian Carp. Canoes are also available for hire. When you arrive you will have to hire a boat to take you 15 minutes to the houseboats. One houseboat has a high diving platform. Reserve a place on the website.
