Huay Teung Tao Reservoir

Huay Teung Tao Reservoir - Chiang Mai

  • Description:

    • When the weather warms up local Thais and foreigners in the know head to Huay Teung Tao Reservoir, to escape the heat. Once there you can lounge about on shady bamboo platforms overlooking the serene man-made lake and order food and drinks. The lake is formed from runoff from Doi Pui National Park, so it is reasonably clean despite the commercial activity surrounding its banks. Paddleboats, bikes and fishing gear are available for rent, or if you are feeling a little more adventurous there is a track behind the lake that heads into the jungle and up Doi Suthep. The lake is great for whiling away the hours with your favourite people, an ice-cold beer in hand and an occasional dip in the cool waters.
