The Question
Public Question Asked by joan_loke about Chiang Mai
Me and 2 of my friends are intending to climb Bell Mountain (Pru Kradung). Which is the best way to go? Should I go from Bangkok or from Chiangmai?
After climbing Pru Kradung, we need to go Chiang Mai. Is there a direct bus transport to Chiang Mai or do we need to change buses midway. Thanks

Phukradueng National Park,Thailand’s second tallest mountain.:)
Firstly, you need to get to Loei province by bus from Bangkok at bus station the north eastern bus terminal and book evening ticket cuz will arrive there next day and take the local bus to park entrance.
and u can get bus at Loei province to Chiangmai but have not much per day.it better if you back to bangkok before cuz in bangkok bus station have a lot bus and many kind go to chiangmai from bangkok to chiangmai take around 9 hr. or fly it better 1 hr. landing to chiangmai...anyway my local the best :) lovely place , ....^^ have a good trip

I would suggest to go directly from chiangmai to Loey since you can cut half of the period you will be spending on the bus. There is of course direct bus to Loey province. Make sure to not leave any junk on Pru Gradueng, good luck

Phu Kradung you can reach by bus from Bangkok to Loei... and after wards you take the bus from Loei to Chiang Mai... that way you see more of Thailand and on holidays one should spend time to experience it all.

I do suggest you go first to Phu Kradung from Bangkok and after that to Chiangmai.
Take the bus from Mor Chit Northern Bus Station in Bkk to Chiang Khan in Loei province and get out at Phu Kradung. Phu Kradung is a table mountain and flat on the top with a huge area to trek on and spectacular views, in particular at sunrise and sunset. Its height is between 1200 and 1300 m. I suggest you stay at least one or two nights on the top.You can hire tents on the top as well as porters to carry your stuff up to the mountain. There is no road or cable car going up (thanks God and the Forestry Department).
After Phu Kradung you go directly to Chiangmai, no need to go back to Bkk. It could well be that you have to change buses, but that's easy.
