Fortunately the road to Mae Fah Luang is very picturesque and features a few interesting sites along the way, including the Doi Tung Palace (Pra Tamnak Doi Tung), hill tribe villages (Akha and Muser) and Wat Phra That Doi Tung located on top of Doi Tung Mountain - the highest peak in Chiang Rai Province.
