- If you walk into the field house at Hamlin Park to go see a modern dance concert, you'll hear the sound of sneakers screeching on a basketball court as a flurry of children run past you to the foosball table. Don't worry, you're in the right place. Take the stairs on the right to the second floor of the Roscoe Village community center to discover an incredible, intimate performance venue. Artists in residence the Chicago Moving Company perform throughout the year and present local dance companies and choreographers. Make sure you're free on a Thursday or Friday--the park and the venue are closed the rest of the weekend in the evenings.
