Neighborhood Description

Gold Coast/Streeterville

Luxury is a way of life in the Gold Coast and Streeterville. Located off the Chicago and Clark/Division Red Line stops, the Gold Coast is one of the most affluent neighborhoods in the city, where between modern luxury high rises are beautiful 19th century structures and elegant brownstones. Streeterville, named after the crazy ship captain George Wellington Street, is the area between Michigan Avenue and Lake Michigan, with significant landmarks including, Navy Pier, Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Oak and Rush streets in the Gold Coast house the world's most reputable and famous designers including, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Gucci. Many of the city's most exclusive (and popular) restaurants are here, and the "Viagra Triangle" bar scene is not to be missed, at least for the people watching. Be sure to check out the long-standing Zebra Lounge.
