Lakeview/Wrigleyville
Lakeview is three neighborhoods in one: Wrigleyville, East Lakeview (or Boystown), the nation's first officially recognized gay village, and West Lakeview, bordering Roscoe Village. Wrigleyville surrounds Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Sports bars and pizza joints are lively with fans on game day, and year-round the weekends the neighborhood is crawling with young twenty-somethings. The Metro, a great music venue, and iO Theater, a fun comedy/improv spot are unique establishments worth checking out.
Boystown runs the stretch of Halsted between Belmont and Irving Park. It is a colorful, eclectic, and busy neighborhood, home to a thriving gay, lesbian, and LGBT community. Here you will find primarily gay-oriented restaurants and bars, like Roscoe's, with a very open and friendly attitude.
Roscoe Village is the most notable area of West Lakeview. A quiet residential neighborhood, perfect for families also has a great selection of locally owned shops and boutiques. Delightful restaurants and bars including Kitsch'n, Orange, and the Village Tap are neighborhood highlights that are good for the whole family.
