Loop
Surrounded by the steady hum of clattering El tracks, the Loop marks the center of Chicago. Luxury hotels like The Drake and boutique accommodations like the Hotel Felix give guests plenty of options for their temporary homes. By day, office workers sit high above the city in towering skyscrapers, and the streets below bustle with the noise of taxis, buses and millions of people.
At night, the Loop slows down as employees head home. However, this section of town doesn't completely shut off the lights in the evening. Home to the city's Theater District, you can consider this Chicago's equivalent to Broadway. If you're planning a romantic date at one of the renowned theaters, be sure to stop by Italian Village first for a candlelit dinner in an atmosphere designed to inspire "amore."
Just east of the Loop, you'll find two of the city's most famous parks: Grant Park and Millennium Park. Throughout the summer, each outdoor destination hosts free symphony shows and some of the city's biggest festivals such as the Taste of Chicago and the Chicago Blues Festival.
