Near North Side/River North: Chicago

You're in Chicago- you have to pay a visit to River North. Located just northwest of the Loop, The Magnificent Mile runs through River North, and no shopper can resist its call! A plethora of art galleries dot the neighborhood, and art lovers should visit to the neighborhood from May through the summer for the many art festivals featuring works from the local galleries. Beyond the Magnificent Mile, great antique and upscale clothing boutique furniture stores are found here.

 There is no shortage of restaurants or night-life hot spots here- this area is about as "big city" as Chicago gets. Nighttime brings swanky lounges and high-end clubs, but still a few hopping restaurants on the cheaper end. Be sure to check out Pops for Champagne and Cafe Iberico for music and food, Martini Ranch, Enclave, and Bull & Bear for a fancy place to be seen.
