South Loop
The South Loop has blossomed in the last 10 years into Chicago's largest construction zone, but with all those new condos come some pretty hip restaurants, bars, and things to do. It has become a very popular place for young professionals to move, and is also inhabited by college kids attending Columbia College, making the area a very lively place to be. Grant Park is just north, and to the east Museum Campus and the Lakefront are not too shabby of a neighbor, either. The South Loop is also home to Printer's Row, where the old printing houses have been turned into beautiful lofts and apartment buildings. Visitors will also want to check out the Harold Washington Library, constructed in the Beaux-Arts style.
Entertainment can be found at the very elegant Auditorium Theater, featuring large scale performances. Or, on a casual note, check out blues at Buddy Guy Legend's. Treat your palate at Yolk and Bongo Room for brunch, and Opera for a fabulous dinner.
