Almost the entire menu, which is scrawled on a chalkboard behind the counter, is under $5. Each sandwich comes on its own freshly baked 12-inch baguette accompanied by cucumbers, pickled carrots and dikon radish, cilantro, jalapeno, and mayo. Beyond that, customers are offered a range of meats and preparations, including Vietnamese meatballs (xiu mai), shredded chicken(thit gà), BBQ pork (xá xiu), sardines (cá mòi), and more. If you're looking for the full on experience banh mi experience, go for the Saigon Classic Special: ham, headcheese, pâté, and pork roll. And they are not joking when they say express. These sandwiches are ready fast and can be eaten in the store or taken to go. Don't forget to grab a lychee lemonade on the way out!
