  • NileGuide Expert Says:

Looking for a health conscience meal? Heartland provides local and organic food, in an environment that will make you feel like a west coast hippie.

  • NileGuide Expert tip:

Visit Heartland for its unique character and vibe, not necessarily for a stellar dining experience.

    Description:

    • Join the conversation or just listen in as liberals argue about the country's state of affairs. The food matches the words. The menu is mostly vegetarian, but there are a few concessions to the meat eater. All entrees are priced reasonably. Best of all, you do not have to make a reservation; you can usually find a table. If you opt not to dine, that is perfectly OK. The Heartland acts as a sort of restaurant/bar/nightclub/community center, offering something for nearly everyone. This a great place for people watching and eavesdropping. Live music is sometimes offered on the weekends, usually some kind of folk or 'alternative' sound with a small cover charge at the door.
