Description:

  • Enticing passersby with iconic plastic food preps in the window, this two-floor Joy Yee Noodles sib rolls out a menu of sushi and Vietnamese faves. Communal tables downstairs are fringed by a glassed-in koi pond path; another dining room handles overflow upstairs. Familiar maki dominate the menu, but options like the "heart attack"--battered jalapenos stuffed with spicy tuna--and maki stuffed with soft shell crab tempura and basil prove anything but blasé. More than a dozen skewers, from okra to quail eggs and chicken gizzards, attract night-time bar-hoppers, but fro-yo, Taiwanese ice with red and green beans and fresh fruit smoothies are all-hours indulgences.
