Description:
- Owned and operated by true Italians, Macello spares no expense in making the building seem straight from the southern shores of Italy. Converted from a warehouse, the vibe inside is very industrial-chic. Indeed, the word "macello" in Italian means slaughterhouse, so you'll find hanging meat hooks, and clear plastic strip doors separating the dining room from an area set up like a butcher shop, with a full deli case lined with Italian meats and cheeses. Exposed bricks, vaulted wooden ceiling, low lit lanterns, and a massive wood-burning oven complete the look. As for the food, you can't go wrong with the pizzas, but if you're in the mood for something heftier, note that the lamb chops are cut three fingers thick.
