Description:
- Mundial is not the typical Pilsen restaurant and is on the higher priced end of restaurants in the area. Described by the chef as a blend of pre-Columbian cooking with a European influence, the end result is worth the investment. For brunch, one of the recommended favorites is the Green Chilaquiles, made with crispy tortilla totopos, machaca, and a choice of eggs. Good for any season is the Ensalada India made with mesclun, fresh corn, mango, jicama, red peppers, tomatoes, tortilla totopos, and cilantro vinaigrette - a very tasty and refreshing plate. For dinner there is the Costillas de Borrego en salsa de Pasilla made with New Zealand rack of lamb that melts in your mouth. Marinated Armenian style with potato rajas gratin and pasilla cascabel cream sauce, it's a dish you won't find elsewhere. You can bring your own alcohol, though they also offer a small selection of wines. Don't miss out on the coffee, which is made with cinnamon, and the dessert special, which is always spectacular. -Sylvia Barragan
