Once Upon a Thai

• Although its name is gimmicky, this Thai restaurant is anything but. For good reason, this has consistently been a Thai favorite for Lakeview residents, and is especially popular on weekends when people make this their dinner spot before heading over to the nearby Music Box Theatre to catch a movie. The menu features such unusual dishes as phad ped talay (shrimp, crab meat, scallops, mussels and squid in a spicy sauce) and roasted duck curry. Dinners are affordable, and the lunch specials are a good deal too. Stop by on Wednesdays and Sundays to hear live jazz music while you dine. On Friday and Saturday, there is live Thai classical music, which is probably more appropriate for the setting.
