• One of the more recent additions to Chinatown, Penang features Southeast Asian culinary delicacies from Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, among others. Dining here is a delicious adventure, and the staff is always eager to make recommendations: spicy coconut-bas ed beef rendang, sea bass baked in banana leaves, a yam pot filled with stir-fried morsels of meat and vegetable. The appetizers are equally tantalizing, especially skewers of charcoal-grilled satay and crisp-fried roti canai served with curry dipping sauce.
