- The Grocery Bistro started as a new concept of Marcel Somfelean for a casual dinning experience with a twist in gourmet-connoisseur food. We opened our doors in March 2009 in the West Loop and have been going strong ever since. We are a BYOB restaurant located two blocks from Harpo Studios, near Greektown and a few minutes away from Chicago's theater district. The new Executive Chef, Daniel Marquis, creates our seasonally changing fare. His menu entails handpicked ingredients year-round, sourced from frequent forays to local meat and seafood markets, and visits to various spice shops. You can expect hot and cold share-plates for meat and seafood lovers as well as vegetarian friendly dishes. Vegan requests can be accommodated.
