- The Scene
A jeans-and-T-shirt crowd nestles into close booths and tables alongside carpeted walls at this large, open eatery. Blue, yellow and red bulbs casts a strange-but-cozy glow. Friends and neighbors nosh at the bar, while waitresses weave around tables to deliver pop and pizza to hungry regulars.
The restaurant's signature cracker-thin-crust pizza is crunchy, dotted with oregano and oven-browned mozzarella. Whether plain or topped with spicy banana peppers, pepperoni or green olives, the pureed, slightly acidic tomato base promises a full-flavor affair. Cheesy garlic bread, sprinkled liberally with Italian herbs, is a satisfying starter or side. Winning entrees include "Da Big Nicky," a spicy pizza-inspired, grilled Italian sausage patty sandwiched by garlic bread and covered in tangy tomato sauce. Toothsome meat ravioli can arrive undercooked, but is served with a delicious marinara.
